Anti-Berger digital ad push launches, but who's behind it?
Primary campaign against Sam Page continues to heat up
An organization calling itself “North Carolina Families for Prosperity” has launched a significant digital ad push opposing Senate president pro tem Phil Berger.
Starting Oct. 7, the group has set up a website and published a 30-second digital ad that’s running on YouTube. They’ve pumped just under $100,000 into the campaign, and the ad’s been shown about 4 million times, according to Google ad records.
The ad copy criticizes Berger for the new Congressional districts, “slow-walking” Hurricane Helene aid and trying to “kill thousands of commercial fishing jobs.”
Of course, Berger is in a primary contest against Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page. Berger has already launched his own campaign ads supporting his re-election.
I tried to figure out whether North Carolina Families for Prosperity is connected directly to Page, or if it’s another type of group and haven’t yet been able to do so.
