Some things never change. Growing up I loved going to Perkins Pancake House because it was several steps above Waffle House. And then they infuriated everyone by changing their name to Perkins Cake & Steak because they wanted to appeal to the lunch and dinner crowd also. Surely, it would put them out of business. That was 1969! And Perkins Family Restaurants thrives today, 56 years later. Sad they have never moved into North Carolina. Those are some fine pancakes! The steaks? I don't know, I only went there for breakfast. Their name changed. I didn't!

We had a Perkins in Apex when I was growing up! Sadly it is closed now.

Andrew, agree that changing cracker barrel brand to something new is probably useless effort. The objective should be can you see it from the roadside. You could recognize the original just fine! I don't think they were seeing flat sales due to the sign.
