What Roy Cooper’s hoodies say about modern politics

Campaign merch has gone from afterthought to identity badge. Cooper’s new line is just the latest proof

I’ve always liked the niche corners of politics. So when Roy Cooper launched a new merch store for his U.S. Senate run yesterday, I clicked mostly out of morbid curiosity.

Sad to say: It’s really freaking good.

I’ve written before about why I think Cooper is one of the most calculating, accountability-averse politicians North Carolina has produced. I spent a year and a half trying to beat him in 2020. I don’t have warm feelings about the man.
